Todd is a Partner in the Brown Smith Wallace Audit Services practice, where he works primarily with clients in the insurance industry. He has 15 years of progressive experience, working closely with clients in the heavily regulated insurance industry.

Todd is responsible for serving insurers writing fidelity, personal and commercial lines; medical and life insurance; and professional liability coverage. Todd also services the firm’s ever-growing captive insurance clientele. He performs audits under both GAAP and the statutory basis of accounting.

Todd specializes in auditing regulated entities and evaluating the design and effectiveness of internal controls. He has a strong background in data analysis, specifically with the use of Galvanize (formerly ACL) and other software, which is used to tailor audits for efficiency and effectiveness. Additionally, Todd has industry experience in internal audits, SOX 404 as well as compliance and forensic case work.

While focused primarily on the insurance industry, Todd performs audits and attest work for a variety of industries including not-for-profit organizations, real estate companies and employee benefit plans. Todd also performs peer review services for public accounting firms throughout the United States.

Todd is a licensed CPA and a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Masters of Accountancy.

In 2018, Todd participated in the Brown Smith Wallace Partnership Readiness Program (PRP), which prepares selected Principals to become the next generation of firm Partners. He was promoted to Partner effective in 2019.

He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Missouri Society of CPAs (MOCPA). He also currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Crown Center for Senior Living in St. Louis.
