Todd is a Principal of audit services in the Brown Smith Wallace Insurance Advisory Services group. He has 11 years of progressive experience, working closely with clients in the heavily regulated insurance industry.
Todd is responsible for serving insurers writing fidelity, personal and commercial lines; medical and life insurance; and professional liability coverage. Todd also services the firm’s ever growing captive insurance clientele.
Todd performs audits under U.S. GAAP, the Statutory Basis of Accounting and various other bases of accounting specific to clients domiciled in the U.S. He has extensive experience in reviewing complex contracts for regulatory purposes as well as auditing internal controls in accordance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS).
Todd specializes in auditing regulated entities and evaluating the design and effectiveness of internal controls. He has a strong background in data analysis, specifically with the use of ACL and other software, which is used to tailor audits for efficiency and effectiveness. Additionally, Todd has industry experience in internal audits, SOX 404 as well as compliance and forensic case work.
Todd is a licensed CPA and a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Masters of Accountancy.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Crown Center for Senior Living in St. Louis.
