Bart is a Manager in the Advisory Services practice at Brown Smith Wallace. He brings more than 20 years of auditing and compliance experience in manufacturing, reinsurance, insurance, finance, and banking to the firm. He provides quality audits, which not only safeguard the assets of corporations but offer process improvements that enhance the efficiency and success of the organizations.

Bart has experience in business process evaluation; Sarbanes-Oxley implementation and administration; IT development and implementation management; risk and compliance management; and accounting within the financial industry, particularly in regards to insurance, Medicare, banking, and social security administration programs.

Bart’s auditing experience includes positions at Mercantile Bank, GenAmerica, MetLife and Allsup Incorporated. In these positions, he was responsible for directing audits of internal systems as well as financial and operational process reviews. In addition, he served as compliance officer responsible for ensuring that the daily operations are meeting the standards, policies and laws by designing and implementing policies and controls.

Bart earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting from the University of Missouri—St. Louis (UMSL), and he earned his Master of Business Administration degree from the ITT School of Business. Bart’s certifications include Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA); Certified Internal Auditor (CIA); Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI); Associate Customer Service (ACS); Associate, Insurance Agency Administration (AIAA); Associate, Insurance Regulatory Compliance (AIRC); and Associate, Reinsurance Administration (ARA).

Bart has served as the president and executive vice president for the St. Louis Chapter of ISACA, a board member of Junior Board of Directors of GenAmerica Corporation, and a member of the MetLife Internal Audit Diversity Council. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Fox High School Warriors ice and roller hockey teams.
