Ron is a Partner and the Health Care Industry Group Leader at Brown Smith Wallace. Ron advises providers, payors and companies that support the health care industry through a variety of value-add channels. Ron and his team, among other services, work with clients in the preparation and implementation of components of value-based purchasing and care. With almost 35 years of health care industry experience, he has in-depth knowledge and provides solutions for the need to integrate providers and payors, regardless of corporate ownership. Ron brings clients hands-on experience as both an industry executive and consultant.
His health care expertise includes strategic, financial and operational advisory services; development of narrow and Value Based Networks; revenue enhancement and strategy implementation; reimbursement and process improvement strategies; HIPAA compliance; feasibility studies; merger and acquisition transactions and implementation; and market assessments.
Ron serves a variety of industries, including health care, financial services, government and educational institutions.
Prior to joining Brown Smith Wallace, Ron provided strategic, operational and business development services starting his career with Ernst and Young. He also worked with both private and public companies, including serving as CFO for a division of Integrated Health Services, and owned startup company Service Assist. He is a frequent speaker for clients, trade and other professional associations.
Ron is extensively involved in industry associations. He serves as President Elect of the Missouri Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a Board Member for Crystal Oaks Nursing Center, and the HC advisory Board Chair for Harris Stowe State University College of Business, as well as previously serving as a National Board Member of the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA). He is also a member of the Missouri Health Care Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, ACHCA, and the American Public Health Association. Ron also is a regular media contributor on Reform implications for print, television, and radio.
Ron earned a bachelor’s degree in health administration, a master’s degree in health administration and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Missouri – Columbia. He is a certified nursing home administrator (CNHA), a certified assistant living administrator (CALA), a licensed nursing home administrator (LNHA) in the state of Missouri and a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Administrators (FACHCA).
