Lauren is a Manager in the Brown Smith Wallace Tax Services practice where she is responsible for planning and reviewing engagements for individuals, trusts, gifts and estates. She manages a team that completes complex tax research, reviews a high volume of tax returns, conducts tax planning analysis and corresponds with the IRS and state taxing authorities.
Lauren’s areas of expertise include:
- Making recommendations on existing estate plans and taxation matters related to trusts and estates.
- Leading strategic tax planning and client meetings specific to gift planning and personal income tax compliance.
- Drafting documents for clients with complex and familial relationships, including individual and joint revocable trusts, powers of attorney for wills, irrevocable life insurance trusts and intentionally defective grantor trusts.
Prior to joining Brown Smith Wallace, Lauren was a Tax Senior at CliftonLarsonAllen, LLP, where she served as the internal firm resource for trust, estate and gifting issues and worked with attorneys on taxation matters related to trusts and estates.
Lauren earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from DePaul University and a J.D. with concentrations in Taxation and Business Transactions from St. Louis University School of Law. Lauren is a member of the Missouri Bar Association and The Estate Planning Council of St. Louis.
