Darren is a Manager in the Brown Smith Wallace Advisory Services practice, where he provides internal audit services. His responsibilities include planning and testing, identifying and mitigating risks, report writing and delivering results to management. He has nearly 20 years of experience coordinating and managing outsourced and co-sourced internal audit services, working closely with all levels of management and reporting to audit committees.
Darren also assists clients with operational auditing, audit plan formation, audit program creation and budgeting, enterprise risk management, risk and control training, fraud risk assessments, quality assurance reviews (QAR), Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and standard operating procedure (SOP) guidance.

Prior to joining Brown Smith Wallace, Darren was a senior manager of internal audit services for Save-A-Lot, where he managed the co-sourced internal audit function, facilitated SOX testing and reporting; performed annual fraud risk assessments, budgeting and scoping for SOX testing; and identified scope and timing for operational audits.
Darren earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Western Kentucky University. He is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and a member of the St. Louis Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
