Dan is a Partner in the Transaction Advisory and Litigation Support Services (TALS) practice at Brown Smith Wallace. His approach to client service allows him to forge solid, mutually respectful relationships with clients, ultimately increasing the efficiency on both sides of the transaction.

As a Partner in this group, Dan assists clients through mergers and acquisitions by leading due diligence and quality of earnings engagements. He also assists clients in purchase price negotiations, post-closing working capital and opening balance sheet procedures.  Dan performs business valuations, fraud and forensic accounting, and litigation support engagements for clients in various industries. He has extensive experience working with private equity firms and their portfolio companies, as well as transaction services for public companies.

Dan previously served as a Principal in this practice, and as a Manager in the Brown Smith Wallace Audit Services practice.

While working in the Audit Services practice, Dan was responsible for managing audit and accounting engagements and for training staff. Dan worked on several client engagements in the manufacturing, software and distribution industries. Dan led the audits of several consolidated organizations with multiple subsidiaries that have gone through significant acquisitions, divestitures, stock compensation plan implementations and systems conversions. He is a resident expert on the accounting for and auditing of business combinations. During his time in the Audit Services practice he gained valuable experience performing due diligence on acquisitions with several of our largest clients. 

Dan is a licensed CPA, a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and a Certified M&A Specialist (CMAS). He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Illinois College. In 2018 Dan participated in the Brown Smith Wallace Partnership Readiness Program (PRP), which prepares selected Principals to become the next generation of firm Partners.
