Missourians Warned of Unclaimed Property Scam


Letter, mail Missourians are being targeted by an Unclaimed Property scam letter claiming to be from the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators (NAUPA). The letter instructs the recipient to pay a fee to receive Unclaimed Property. The Missouri State Treasurer, Clint Zweifel, is warning Missourians of the scam and reminding individuals that have Unclaimed Property in Missouri that they can always receive it free of charge by working with his office.

Missourians can check for Unclaimed Property any time on Treasurer Zweifel’s website at to begin the claims process free of charge. Individuals can also check for Unclaimed Property outside of Missouri at, a website administered by NAUPA. It provides links to other states where you can also search free of charge.
