Diane Cates Joins Brown Smith Wallace as a Manager in Property Tax Services


(ST. LOUIS, December 19, 2017) Diane Cates joins Brown Smith Wallace as a manager in the property tax services group. While Cates focuses on property tax, she also works on other state and local tax engagements.

Cates brings more than 14 years of experience in the accounting industry. She has experience completing multiple sales, use and property tax audits with various taxing jurisdictions as well as coordinating and leading efforts to comply with sales, use and property tax filing requirements while minimizing associated tax liability. She has also acted as the responsible party for all aspects of the personal property and real estate tax functions of several large corporate entities.

Cates earned her Bachelor of Science in accountancy from the University of Missouri—Columbia. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants (MOCPA) and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
