Bill Willbrand Appointed to Advisory Board of National Association of Construction Auditors
(ST. LOUIS, October 4, 2017) Bill Willbrand, Jr. has been appointed to the advisory board of the National Association of Construction Auditors (NACA), which is dedicated to enhancing the control environment related to construction projects by addressing the needs of auditors, owner construction/facilities management personnel and project managers/construction management.
“Bill Willbrand brings a holistic business sense to the mission of the NACA’s Advisory Board based upon his experience with a wide range of large scale projects,” said Larry G. Baker, CCA, CRFAC, CFE, CCFS, CICA, president and co-founder of the NACA. “Bill’s presence on the advisory board will help us carry out our mission to serve the Association and its members by providing expert counsel, guidance and innovative advice,” added Baker, who is also founder of LG Baker & Associates, a firm dedicated to providing quality auditing and forensic services to its clients.
Willbrand is a member of the Executive Committee and serves as Partner in Charge of Vertical Markets at Brown Smith Wallace, a top 100 U.S. accounting firm, where he leads the Real Estate and Construction Advisory Service teams. He is responsible for the integration of all service components of the firm to meet the unique needs of facility owners and real estate developers, leading a multi-disciplined team of over 25 professionals in providing services to all phases of the construction life cycle – from project inception, mobilization and construction, to finalization and close-out as well as project look-back analysis.
Willbrand has over 30 years of professional experience, including work in financial reporting, tax, as well as consulting in a wide range of areas, including strategy development, process improvement and technology. His expertise includes construction auditing and cost control, financial analysis and budgeting, strategy development, implementation of “balanced scorecard” methodology, organizational development and succession planning, process improvement, and development of tax strategies.
Willbrand holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Missouri State University, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Construction Auditor (CCA), Construction Control Professional (CCP), and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
