Lauren Sanders Receives Inaugural HR Award from St. Louis Business Journal

ST. LOUIS, March 12, 2019) Lauren Sanders, director of human resources at Brown Smith Wallace, is a recipient of the inaugural St. Louis Business Journal HR Award. This award recognizes human resources professionals for their hard work and dedication to their respective organizations and communities.

Sanders first joined Brown Smith Wallace in 2010 and led the firm to take a more strategic approach to many of its human resources initiatives. Sanders led the development and implementation of Brown Smith Wallace University, a formal campus recruiting program, and enhanced the firm’s benefits policy to include more paid-time-off for all employees, parental leave and a larger 401k employer match.

One of the many initiatives she spear-headed, along with members of the Professional Growth Steering Committee, was the Three-Year Strategy. This key component of the firm’s Professional Growth Process is a career and personal growth roadmap that each employee, with the guidance of a performance manager, develops to fulfill his or her short and long-term professional aspirations.

By May of this year, every employee and partner will have successfully mapped out their three-year career plan. Sanders expects this process will help improve the firm’s already low five-year turnover rate of 10%.
