Kelly Weis Promoted to Partner at Brown Smith Wallace
ST. LOUIS (January 29, 2015) Kelly Weis has been promoted to Partner, Audit Services at Brown Smith Wallace. Weis has more than 20 years of auditing, accounting and corporate taxation experience. She is the Audit Partner in charge of Health Care for the firm. Weis’ other industry expertise includes retail, distribution, real estate and other professional service industries. She functions as an advisor for these closely held businesses by assisting them with operational concerns, efficiency improvements and identification of opportunities to reduce costs and improve overall profitability.
As a Partner, Weis will continue to be responsible for supervising a staff of 30 plus professionals, reviewing audit and accounting financial statement engagements and keeping staff up to date on recent technical pronouncements. She also assists in the implementation and monitoring of the Audit Services group practice plan, oversees continuing education of the Audit Services staff and functions as a mentor for internal professionals.
Weis earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Southwest Missouri State University. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants. Weis is also actively involved in non-for-profit organizations, including St. Francis Community Services (a division of Catholic Charities) and The Little Bit Foundation.
