Bernard Ottenlips Joins Brown Smith Wallace as State and Local Tax Principal


Bernard Ottenlips(ST. LOUIS, May 30, 2017) Bernard Ottenlips joins Brown Smith Wallace as a state and local tax services principal.

Ottenlips brings more than 30 years of experience in accounting and taxation, including serving as director for the PwC St. Louis indirect tax practice for more than 20 years, as well as serving as supervising auditor of corporate income tax for the Missouri Department of Revenue.

“We are very excited to have Bernie join our tax practice,” says Marty Doerr, Partner in Charge, Tax Services at Brown Smith Wallace. “He brings a wide variety of technical experience, as well as terrific client service skills, which will give added depth to our state and local tax practice.”

Ottenlips earned a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting from Quincy University. He is a Certified Member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (CMI). He is also a member of the Associated Industries of Missouri and serves on the tax committee.
