Q1 - 2015 NPO Speaker Series: Will Health Care Reform Affect Your Not For Profit?
How health care reform could affect your agency and why you should be paying attention right now.
The health care system is changing, and many changes are likely to continue regardless of any future legislative activity to overturn, change, or replace the Affordable Care Act. These changes – parity, readmission rate penalties, shifts in reimbursement models, to name a few – don’t seem as if they’d affect community nonprofits – but they do. Opportunities and threats are emerging that could change the landscape in virtually all not for profits providing human service programming.
This workshop is designed for the organization that isn't sure how health care affects it, and may be beneficial to those who have defined strategy and are seizing opportunities. The format of the session will be part lecture/overview, part interactive discussion.
Kari McAvoy, Partner, EMD Consulting Group, has worked with many social service nonprofits as they develop strategies to respond to or capitalize on opportunities presented in the new environment.
In late 2014, Frank Siano was recruited by EMD as a subcontractor, because he brings specific health insurance and managed care industry expertise, most recently as VP of Business Development for Aetna and Corporate Vice President for Business Development for Coventry Health Care Medicaid Divisions.
