Not For Profit Investing From A Fiduciary Perspective

CityPlace 1 Auditorium

Not every board member needs to be a finance pro! However...all board members should understand how to invest for the future of their not-for-profit organization.

Board members have fiduciary responsibility to make decisions in the best interest of their not-for-profit.  But how?  What are directors’ obligations?  Are they being met?  In this session we will look at the Self-Assessment of Fiduciary Excellence ("SAFE").  We will explore:
  • As a Trustee, am I doing my job?  What is my job?
  • As an organization, have we identified a risk level?
  • Are our investments managed in accordance with applicable laws, documents and policies?
  • Do we have an Investment Policy Statement? When did we review it last?
  • What is a "good" investment policy statement?
