Make an IMPACT
The application process for our 2018 IMPACT Sessions are now closed. We'll begin accepting applications for the 2019 IMPACT session in September. Click here to check out the Brown Smith Wallace Family culture.
IMPACT was created to provide accounting students an exclusive opportunity to participate in their intended field, strengthen their leadership skills and prepare for their first internship.
The two-day session is intensive and rewarding. Students participate in real-world tax, audit and advisory simulations and engage in presentations designed to help prepare them for a career in public accounting.
Students work closely with firm leadership, and at the end of the session, they walk away with refined leadership and professional etiquette skills, which are essential to success in the industry.
Here's What Some 2018 Participants Have to Say
“In 2 days the IMPACT program taught me more about accounting career paths then I had learned in 3 years of college. I became excited to go into public accounting because of how impressive BSW made it sound. It was great to see that a firm can make going to work feel like an extension of being with your family. I’m so grateful for the knowledge and kindness I received during IMPACT.” – Emily Storey, UMSL
"IMPACT was a great way to get to know the firm. You get introduced to the family-like culture, along with a lot of the awesome people that work there. It made me realize what an amazing place it is." – Tyler Kocher, Missouri State
"The IMPACT program offered great insight into Brown Smith Wallace, their multiple service lines and an idea of what day to day operations might look like at the firm. For me, this was incredibly beneficial in gaining a better idea of what I could do in accounting post-graduation. Not only did we have great presentations and hands on activities, we were also given the opportunity to meet and connect with many professionals and Partners from the firm, which is absolutely invaluable! I fully stand behind the IMPACT program and would recommend it to my peers!” – Coleton Meseke, SLU
“Throughout Impact, I had the opportunity to learn about many different areas within public accounting that I didn’t even know existed. The presentations given by the employees along with the simulations created real-life scenarios for us to work through together as teams. I also had the pleasure of getting to know many members of the BSW Family ranging from interns and staff employees all the way up to the Managing Partner, Tony Caleca. Impact is an exciting 2 day program with many learning opportunities and chances to network! I am very grateful that I was able to be a part of the 2018 Impact Summer Leadership Program, and I highly recommend this program to any other college students to help build your future career!” – Jessica Lake, SIUE
