Earl is a Partner of Brown Smith Wallace with more than 40 years of experience in public accounting. He was a founding partner of Baron Salsman & Company, LLC and was actively involved in his firm for 18 years prior to their 1998 merger with Brown Smith Wallace.
Earl’s professional designations include: Certified in Financial Forensics by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Accredited in Business Valuations from the American Institute of CPAs and Certified Valuation Analyst from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. He has developed a niche in business valuations and litigation support and he has extensive experience working with a variety of industries.
His expertise led to Earl’s participation as a contributing author for an AICPA publication, Income Reconstruction: A Guide to Discovering Unreported Income. He also has served as a quality reviewer of other CPA firms.
Earl is a past president of the Missouri Chapter of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA). He also has served as a national officer for the National Associated CPA Firms (NACPAF), a network of more than 50 CPA practices throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Earl received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois and a Master of Science degree in Commerce from St. Louis University. For more than ten years, he was a member of the Accountancy Department faculty at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, where he taught managerial accounting and more recently is an adjunct professor of accounting at both Maryville University and Lindenwood University.
