David Heilich is a Partner of the firm and Practice Leader of the Family Wealth Planning Group.

David has more than 20 years of experience and is responsible for the growth and development of the Family Wealth Planning Practice. This practice serves individuals, families, closely held businesses and executives with comprehensive tax and wealth management services. David’s areas of expertise include:

The Family Wealth Planning Group does not sell investments or products. We work with a client’s advisors as a team to provide independent and timely tax, business and estate planning advic

David also provides expertise on various individual, partnership, estate, gift and trust income tax related issues to the tax group.

Prior to joining Brown Smith Wallace, David served as a Tax Manager and Director of Estate and Trust Services at MPP&W, P.C. In addition to his consulting and compliance responsibilities he also was primarily responsible for all aspects of providing services to a prominent St. Louis family office.

He is a licensed certified public accountant and an Accredited Estate Planner®. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Estate Planning Council of St. Louis.

David earned a Bachelor of Science Business Administration degree in Accounting from Saint Louis University.

David currently serves on the Board of the Estate Planning Council of St. Louis, the American Red Cross Planned Giving Advisory Council, and the St. Louis County Library Foundation Professional Advisors Group.
