Q&A

Q. Without naming names, tell us about your favorite client and why you enjoyed working with them.
I have many wonderful clients that are all very different. They challenge me daily with their diversity. It’s been a privilege to get to know each of them on a personal level and learn how to best serve their individual needs.
Q. Please tell us one fun fact about yourself.
I own 22 guitars! Several of them are vintage and I play most of them on a regular basis.
Q. Describe your work style.
I consider myself 100% collaborative. Nobody knows all the answers and there are different ways of tackling any problem we face, so I am very passionate about maintaining an open-door, team-oriented policy.
Q. What’s your proudest moment?
At a team outing, we completed a Tough Mudder. I had never done anything like that, and it was very challenging. I was proud that we helped one another through the entire race, and it ultimately brought our team closer together and reinforced our spirit of collaboration.
Q. Who is (or was) the most influential person in your life
I have been influenced in different ways by many different people throughout the course of my life. Over the span of my career, many colleagues took me under their wing and pushed me to excel in my profession. My wife is a huge influence: patient, funny and very smart! My daughters (all four of them) have taught me the value of being a good listener.
Q. If you could pass on a nugget of wisdom to aspiring accountants or consultants, what would that be?
Listen, listen and learn. Become a sponge for information. There’s so much to learn, and you should never, ever stop.
