Brown
Smith Wallace was founded in 1972 and has grown to include
numerous entities with nineteen members, ten
principals and a total staff of nearly 175.
In addition to its traditional
practice areas of accounting, audit and tax, the firm
delivers A Measurable Difference™ to its clients through
a broad range of non-traditional practice areas.
These practice groups include management consulting,
retirement plan design and administration, insurance
and reinsurance, family wealth and estate planning, risk
management, litigation support and business valuation,
international business, mergers and acquisitions, technology
planning and implementation, professional staffing
services and small business services.
The
firm also has a joint venture with USA Mortgage, a residential
mortgage banking firm. The combination of these
practice groups provides a complete package of financial
and business advisory services for firm clients.
Capabilities
Brown
Smith Wallace is the second-largest locally owned accounting and business
advisory firm in Missouri and is ranked as the sixth-largest firm in the
St. Louis metropolitan area.
Collectively, our staff participates in hundreds
of hours of continuing professional education courses
to maintain a high-level of expertise in all practice areas.
The firm has successfully completed all peer-review examinations,
indicating that it adheres to the strictest of
all AICPA quality-control standards.
In addition, the
firm was one of only five Missouri-based firms to be
initially accepted into the Public Company Accounting
Oversight Board (PCAOB).
