Barry is responsible for
Brown Smith Wallace’s Mergers and Acquisitions Group.
As a Member of the firm, he performs strategic business
planning. In addition, he is Senior Vice President of Brown
Smith Wallace’s affiliate firm, Moore Stephens Corporate
Finance.
Prior to joining the firm, Barry was an audit partner in
an international accounting firm and also had his own consulting
practice.
More than 30 years’ experience in public
and private accounting distinguishes Barry as an expert
in his field. He has worked in numerous industries, including:
- Manufacturing & distribution
- Professional services
- Transportation
- Government
- Real estate
- Not-for-profits
- Auto dealerships
- Food service
In 1988, Barry was named to CFO magazine’s Honor
Roll of Turnaround Specialists in the United States. He
has also been published repeatedly on a variety of business
topics.
As a trusted business advisor, licensed Certified Public
Accountant (CPA), Certified Valuations Analyst (CVA), Certified in Mergers & Acquisitions (CM&A), and Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV), Barry
has assisted many business owners with business valuation,
merger, acquisition, liquidation and/or syndication of
their companies. He has served as a broker, financial advisor,
negotiator and arbitrator in these transactions.
A graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, Barry
holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.
He has
served on committees for both the American Institute
of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Missouri
Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA). He is
a past chairperson of the MSCPA Business Consulting Services
Committee.
