Larry is a member of Brown Smith Wallace and has
direct responsibility for the Insurance and Reinsurance practice of
the firm.
With 25 years of experience in public accounting,
he also assists in the firm's internal monitoring process, which consists
of performing internal quality control policies and procedures inspections.
Prior to joining Brown Smith Wallace, Larry was an
audit manager with a national accounting firm. Larry
also has a diverse background in governmental accounting and auditing.
The firm most recently performed a large project for a local municipality
under his direction.
Larry has ultimate responsibility for a number of
large audit clients and has worked on numerous engagements
with:
- Commercial enterprises
- Insurance companies
- MGAs and MGUs
- Reinsurers
- Third party administrators
The lines of insurance business that Larry has experience
with have included workers’ compensation, individual and group
disability and other life and health coverages. He has managed the
audit engagements of both property and casualty and life
and health insurance companies, including the detail analysis of the
adequacy of loss reserves.
Larry routinely provides operational consultation to both commer-cial
and insurance clients and has issued reports on process evaluations.
His experience includes:
- Performing peer reviews of other CPA firms
- Teaching staff auditor training level courses
- Providing litigation support services to several
law firms (dealing with lost profits and other business
damages)
- Performing operational analysis
- Providing agreed-upon procedure audits
A licensed CPA, Larry received his Bachelor of Business
Administration (BSBA) degree in Accounting from the University
of Missouri-St. Louis, where he minored in Economics.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified
Public Accountants and the Missouri Society of Certified
Public Accountants.
In addition, Larry sits on the
board of the St. Louis Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants
for the Arts.
